Who chooses a .info?
A .info suits sites whose purpose is explaining rather than selling: a trade body setting out regulations, a municipality documenting a single construction project, a patient organisation with a reference section, a manufacturer putting its manuals and safety sheets at an address of their own.
There are no registration conditions. The extension is useful for separating a reference section from a commercial site, so visitors can see at once that nothing is for sale there. If the site is about selling after all, the extension works against you: it promises something other than what you deliver.
